Mavuika Early Thoughts, V5.3Beta

Mavuika

Pre-Release Thoughts
This content was written during Beta 5.3.1. Changes are expected. Also these are pre-release thoughts, so take them as you will.

What Does She Do?

You can check out yatta for all of the details, but let’s summarize quickly.

has two modes for her Elemental Skill. Tapping her Elemental Skill applies Pyro off-field every 2 seconds. The interval is similar to , but Mavuika’s range is quite large, allowing her to target multiple enemies. The interesting part is that holding her Elemental Skill lets her ride her Flamestrider, converting her Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks to Pyro as she attacks. This skill consumes Nightsoul points, with a limit of 80.

Her Elemental Burst doesn’t cost any Energy but requires 100 Fighting Spirit to cast. Fighting Spirit is gained by expending Nightsoul points from other characters at a 1:1 ratio, and in small amounts (1.5) while Normal Attacking. On her own, she gains 10 Nightsoul points when casting her Elemental Burst, and 80 from her Elemental Skill. She can hold up to 200 Fighting Spirit, so you need at least 100 to cast her Burst, and she consumes all current Fighting Spirit to supercharge her Normal and Charged Attacks through massive motion value bonuses.

In the end, you end up using Tap Elemental Skill, rotating through your party members to consume additional Nightsoul points for Fighting Spirit, and end by using ’s Elemental Burst to use her empowered Normal and Charged Attacks.

Yeah, She’s Really Good.

’s current iteration is absurd. As of beta 5.3 version 1, Mavuika is positioned to be the best DPS in the game, period. She gains 35% ATK after a Nightsoul Burst and a decreasing DMG% bonus after using her burst, allowing her initial Burst hit to hit extremely hard. But that’s not what makes her so powerful, the Charged Attack on Flamestrider is similar to a claymore cyclic attack, but at talent level 9 does 202.2% and gains an additional 272% motion value from her Elemental Burst and is completely spammable for 7 seconds. With 8 hits of her Charged Attack, spits out around 3800% motion value and is able to Vaporize/Melt a solid chunk of this.

Poor Arlecchino.

At current early calculations from Leifa, a full buffing team with C0 , , , and is shelling out a personal DPS value of 78,000+ with the craftable R5 Tidal Shadow and 99,000+ with her signature A Thousand Blazing Suns. Just for reference, a whole team DPS calc focused on buffing with , , and sits at 94,0000 DPS.

This is not even mentioning her constellation 1-2, which further amplify her personal DPS by 60% to 156,000.

When we change her teammates to abuse forward Melt with with TTDS, , and , her personal DPS with R5 Tidal Shadow is 120,000+ and with signature, 157,000+. She’s able to outdamage a near apex team on her own. With constellation 2 and signature, we’re looking at a completely sky-shattering 248,000 DPS. This damage, on her own, is over 3x full teams.

Nightsoul Options for Fighting Spirit

There is a legitimate concern with that she is too reliant on Fighting Spirit accumulation through Nightsoul Points. Without being able to cast her Elemental Skill twice, there is an issue with teambuilding with , so here are her options, rated (as of now) best to worst.

Remember that all of these characters are able to grant 40% elemental DMG bonus from Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City, though we can’t recommend doing so for the on-fielding DPS characters. generates 90 Fighting Spirit on her own from her own Skill and passive talent. She’ll require 100 to Burst, with a 200 Fighting Spirit cap.
